EFC Presents: A Bad Romance

Feat. The Music of Journey, John Barry, and Bernard Hermann (In a very special EFC Music Video!)

“Here’s looking at you, kid.”

Red Fall

Madeleine: There’s a tower and a bell and a garden below. It seems to be in Spain, a village in Spain, it clicks off, it’s gone.

Scottie: A portrait. Do you see a portrait?

Madeleine: No.

Scottie: If I could just find the key, the beginning and put it together…

Madeleine: …to explain it away? There is a way to explain it you see. If I’m mad, that would explain it, wouldn’t it?

Madeleine: Oh Scottie. I’m not mad. I’m not mad. I don’t want to die. There’s someone within me and she says I must die. Oh Scottie, don’t let me go.

Scottie: I’m here. I’ve got you.

Madeleine: I’m so afraid. [They kiss] Don’t leave me. Stay with me.

Scottie: All the time.

  1. Wow…this was such a great video, wonderfully done, and with so many great movies in it: The Matrix, Titanic, Terminator, Tron, absolutely terrific. Also was very nice to see the Stranger Things tv series. Thanks so much for sharing this, totally awesome video! 😊

    1. Thanks for watching, Michel!! I thought this one might appeal to you because of the sci-fi movies you mentioned, especially.

Was really trying to incorporate Carpenter’s Halloween in the horror sequence but I just could not seem to find the correct scene.

I have been on my own sort of hiatus working on this music video. I must say I am so glad to see you back here blogging again!

      1. I really dropped everything here when I saw a post from you again, and I can definitely say wholeheartedly that it’s great to see you here again as well. I hope all is going well with you.
I have been back in full for about 4 weeks now, and it’s really been fun.
As for the video, it really was awesome! (And it really makes me want to see the Matrix again 😊😊).

  2. Mad? No, but my mind is blown! This is fabulous. It’s no wonder you were absent for a while working on this. Your attention to detail and Lip Synching skills always amazes me. Thanks (and you were right Master…..there was more Star Wars in this video!)

    1. More Star Wars indeed! More than I anticipated, even. I found myself using the character of Anakin Skywalker, and his progression to Darth Vader to depict the dark transformation many people undergo when they fail (for whatever reason) to win-over or protect their love. To show the bitterness that follows that failure, and the unhealthy, competitive masculinity that someone will adopt in order to compete, to win back their lost love, usually to no avail. And they hurt so many other people in the process. I didn’t convey this is well as I would have liked in the video I don’t think. But that’s why I chose to use Darth Vader here – what I was going for anyways.

Yes I sacrificed blogging time and a lot of my usual movie watching time in order to make this. Thanks so much for watching! Your encouragement means the world to me my friend

      1. Hi EF, I think you did fine conveying those emotions and ideas, I mean Anakin in his mixed up state of mind was so torn he struck out and hurt the one he loved, leading indirectly to her death. There can’t be many more tragic stories than that!
