A Turning Point (Blog Status Report)

January 26, 2022

My friends this is simply the best time to be following EF. For one, A Dark Night is just 18 days away. Second I’m trying to become the hero of my real-life journey again by getting a job and earning back her affection. I expect it will be very challenging, and I welcome your wisdom and encouragement in my effort to do that this year.

EFC 03: It Follows

Feat. The Music of Disasterpiece & M83

“I think that if one is faced by inevitable destruction – if a house is falling upon you, for instance – one must feel a great longing to sit down, close one’s eyes and wait, come what may.” – Fyodor Dostoyevsky

“It’s funny. We used to daydream about being old enough to go on dates, and drive around with friends in their cars. I had this image of myself holding hands with a really cute guy, listening to the radio, driving along some pretty road up north maybe. And the trees started to change colors. It was never about going anywhere really. Just having some sort of freedom I guess. Now that we’re old enough, where the hell do we go?” Continue reading “EFC 03: It Follows”

EFC 02 – Frozen Inside Out (Part 2)

Feat. The Music of Muse & Demi Lovato

“Some people are worth melting for” – Olaf The Snowman

Chapter 3: Up (& Down) The North Mountain

Queen Elsa’s chilly departure left Arendelle in chaos. The untimely winter freeze surprised everyone, including Princess Anna who until tonight was oblivious to her sister’s powers. Now she feels responsible for provoking Elsa. She sets out after her to try and make amends and stop the winter. We find her sitting beside her guide, Kristoff, in his sled. Kristoff’s trustee reindeer buddy, Sven, pulls the pair through the dark forest.

EFC 02 – Frozen Inside Out (Part 1)

Feat. The Performance by Idina Menzel of “Let It Go”

Inside Out is the 2016 Oscar winner for best-animated feature film, and it is the second addition to The Experience Films Collection! This film is everything an EFC film should be: smart, inspiring, emotionally compelling and psychologically adventurous. In essence, the kind of film this blog was founded upon. It will share its EFC spot with its Disney relative, Frozen. Follow along with the bouncing ball, as I use the emotions from the former film to personify the minds of Elsa and Anna in the latter. Continue reading “EFC 02 – Frozen Inside Out (Part 1)”

EFC 01 – Mad Max: Fury Road

Feat. The Music of Junkie XL & Avenged Sevenfold (in a special EFC music video!)

“If you can’t fix what’s broken you’ll go insane.”

“I am the one who runs from both the living and the dead. Hunted by scavengers… Haunted by those I could not protect. So I exist in this wasteland… A man, reduced to a single instinct: Survive”

Max has lost everything and everyone he cares about, save for his blood and his car. We find him wandering alone in a radiation-scorched post-apocalyptic desert. Soon he is captured by a mine-dwelling cult of psychopathic skinheads who siphon his “crazy blood” and commandeer his vehicle – the only two things he has left, seemingly.

Introducing Experience Film

“Charlie Don’t Surf!”

Hi there! I’m Ricky Vergais, and I’m here to give away this adorable little writing project of Jason’s. Why he’d want me, of all people, to try and pitch you a movie blog is a complete mystery. Personally, I think the whole premise seems absurd. I mean why would anyone want to read about movies when they can just go watch them? After all, isn’t that why movies were invented in the first place? To spare people the boredom of staring at a page all day?

But what do I know? I’m just a comedian, right? I’m sure there’s a perfectly good reason for this whole charade. I sincerely hope you revel in Jason’s nostalgic blathering, even though I won’t. “Blah blah movies are so awesome! Blah blah blah.” Absolute torture, I’m telling you. Just consider yourselves warned. That’s all I’m trying to say. God, is this over with yet? I have a nice dry martini to return to backstage. Continue reading “Introducing Experience Film”
