Tonight I’m chilling out to Electric Youth, a Canadian Synth pop duo from Toronto, Ontario. Their song, “A Real Hero,” was featured in the movie, Drive (2011). Below, the band performs the song live. Continue reading “Electric Youth”

The World is Not Enough (1999)
Feat. The Music of David Arnold performed by Garbage
A few quotes… And a little psychology.
Remember, 007, shadows stay in front or behind, but never on top. Continue reading “The World is Not Enough (1999)”
Dear Xbox, Please feed my imagination, not my addiction.
This September I ended a 3 year hiatus from video games when I purchased a new Xbox One. Since booting up, however, I’ve been mostly…annoyed with the new games I have played: Destiny 2, and Rise of The Tomb Raider. In both games I feel leveling-up and in-game rewards such as “loot boxes” are over-emphasized. Now it seems like experience points matter more than the actual gaming experience. EFC Classics: Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone (2001)
Feat. The Original Score by John Williams
“First years, this way please.”
Hello, and welcome to EFC’s: A Harry Halloween. In the previous post I told you the story of how a young, penniless single-mother overcame the odds to craft one of the most popular book series of all time. Each of J.K. Rowling’s 7 novels were subsequently adapted into movies. The first of which, Philosopher’s Stone, hit theaters in November, 2001. That movie is the subject of this present post. Stick around for the Sorting Hat Ceremony at the end to learn your house.

EFC 2.09: Blade Runner 2049
Feat. The music of Vitaliy Zavadskyy
“We all wish it was us. That’s why we believe.”
I have developed a bad habit recently of talking about myself, rather than the movies I purport to write about on this blog. I shan’t break course in this post, as I do not yet have the strength. For now I want to tell you about my own experience watching Denis Villeneuve’s new science fiction film, Blade Runner 2049, the other night. I will be brief. And I won’t spoil anything major. Continue reading “EFC 2.09: Blade Runner 2049”
EFC Presents: A Harry Halloween
One dreary December day in 1993, a soft-spoken young woman, and her infant daughter moved into a flat in Edinburgh, Scotland. Rummaging through her suitcase, the woman withdrew a short stack of coffee stained notebook pages, and sighed, half heart-broken, half relieved. Continue reading “EFC Presents: A Harry Halloween”
EFC Classics – Lost in Translation
Feat. The Music of Pink Floyd (In a special EFC music video!)
Halloween is three weeks away. I should be writing about horror movies. However, tonight my heart is elsewhere, in the dramedy realm of Sofia Coppola’s, Lost in Translation. Continue reading “EFC Classics – Lost in Translation”
