Ghorman 2: Off And Running

“I’m not allowed to bet. But if I could I’d bet on you.” -The Hunger Games

{ “Ghorman” is the creative battleground for Sucker Punch AΩ: Episode III. Everyone has an angel… Who whispers from our heart…. They can speak through any character we can imagine. They’ll shout through demons if they have to. Daring us, challenging us to fight. }

Friends,
Months of limbo have become hours of productivity— I finally have a foothold in Episode three! And a roadmap. What’s more is most of the scenes are already partially complete, giving this baby a fighting chance to make the July 4th deadline.

She’s The Star of The Show Remember.

Of all three parts, part three feels the most like Sucker Punch. The Bride’s (Kill Bill plight remains the overarching thesis, however she’s “dead” on arrival from the conclusion of Episode Two. Her abdication of the spotlight will allow other heroes to shine this episode. One of those is Sweet Pea (From a certain point of view she is also The Bride). Now acting out her trauma with Dr. Gorski as fellow Alpha-with-a-younger-sister, Katniss from The Hunger Games… Might even see our first hero face swaps this episode.

Only sometimes is my approach with the new face swapping tech. I don’t want to deceive you or cheat the original actors out of there performances. But occasionally I want to swap faces to A) clarify which cross-universe characters the Sucker Punch girls are supposed to be portraying. For example, Sweet Pea = Katniss. And B) simply to amuse you.

I’ll leave you with a related moment that clicked on the timeline this morning. In Sucker Punch, Blue (Oscar Isaac) hails Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) off stage to ask if she can show Baby Doll around the facility. When she replies, “Blue, you saw the show, I don’t have the time,” just as she did twice in episode one— the scene cuts to Hunger Games with the female voice over the intercom saying “30 seconds” (until the games begin). Katniss enters the ascension vehicle, stares to Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) in horror. And Cut To Black!🎬

    1. The characters are more similar than the actresses: Tall Alphas with younger sisters / protective instincts, use of medieval weaponry, both wear pale blue plebeian tunics… I realized while reading your site a while back that Charlize Theron is Abbie Cornish’s (Sweet Pea’s) true doppel. Or one of them at least.

    1. Dear friend, I am investing in a ‘patience stone’ of my own. Have savored these precious few days of (relative) peace in the world, and used them to kickstart my brain and this movie! (With some herbal assistance, turmeric primarily. And a couple amphetamines which prior my heart would not allow). And have also had enough of an ‘appetite’ to play a bit of music on my guitar the past few days. I pray all of this progress continues🙏🖖

      1. I’m glad to hear you have your “patient stone” to carry on, and that getting some help can be useful—no exaggeration, of course. (Mine’s Jack Daniel’s Tennessee!)

        Playing music is an excellent option; I’ve also started strumming my guitar. Take good care, buddy. 😉🤗🖖
