I’m loving the first part. The music, the transitions, and the cuts between the movies… well done!
It’s been ages since I’ve seen Kill Bill. I need to rewatch it soon.
I’ll leave the second part for tomorrow. The first one fits well with the evening flow.
But I had to take a sneak peek and I can’t recall if I’ve seen the animated movie you started with. Atlantis: The Lost Empire perhaps (it’s been decades since I’ve seen it)?

Thanks, mate. Thatโs a good idea – donโt disturb the evening flowโฆ You are correct – Atlantis: The Lost Empire. I slowed it down and it was choppy so i ran it through my new AI software, Hitpaw that my Dad got me for birthday. Used it to add frames and make that first minute of Part 2 a little smoother. Took 10 hours of rendering just to process that first minute ๐

I remember the time when it took 10 hours to render a single frame! ๐

I remain leery of AI. It seems to disturb the flow of creativity. Besides which, AI works by copying massive amounts of samples. It’s not a original production but a pastiche …

Me too. I like your position. I plan to do a follow-up post on how I used AI in this movie. I used it to enhance the picture from 1080p to 4k (In most, but not all scenes). And then I used it to double frames for 1-minute of the movie (a slow-mo sequence to open Part 2). I’ll take the criticism for using it, but I also believe these applications are more ‘technical’ application and less artistic. But that’s debatable.

I agree it really depends on how you use it. Itโs a tool like any other. I remember writers using pencil and refusing typewriters, then typewriter was ok but computers were bad. Now you can write on the tablet with a special pen and it will convert it into a text on the flyโฆ Whatever floats your boat. Now imagine fixing grammatical and typos by hand or doing some tedious process manually without automation. Even with AI itโs the human who sets the parameters and tweaks the end result. Itโs never a mindless input if the result is to be anything worthwhile.

Just watched both. Really good job, I’m impressed as always. Part 2 is my favorite since it’s more action-packed. Though I enjoy Part 1 mostly focusing on Kill Bill and Sucker Punch.

Thanks so much, my friend. I have updated all videos today. I believe there was a total mis-sync on part 1 that I have since corrected (Lips were behind sound by 0.2167 seconds.) Part 2 is also significantly improved today (I think๐ค) Anyways thanks for watching. Means a lot.

It’s amazing how well all those disparate pieces go together! My favorite part is the battle mash-up in Part 2, especially the Bride vs. the girl with the mace on the end of a chain, which is not surprising since that was my favorite part of Kill Bill (other than when the Bride goes to confront Budd, but, I mean, that scene isn’t exactly action-packed). Anyway that was a lot of fun, well done!

And a dragon to honor the “Dragon Stones” author!๐ฒThanks for watching, Master James… Ohh and what a surprise the ‘Budd confrontation’ is. Really blew me away the first time I saw it.

Well done, EF! It’s clear to see your growth in editing skills since your last montage release. I agree with Uri about the great transitions in part one. My favourite moment is the first minute of part two. I love the visuals, music, pacing, all of it! I hope you’ve managed to sleep super well since Friday. ๐ค Well done!

I like 2 best.
You did fab job on both. Good for adding all the credits.
The music in 2 did it for me. I was totally reeled in when I heard the Ironsides theme intro at the beginning.
Watusi scene after creds was a nice touch.
I watched 1 here on your blog…. Vimeo.. When I tried to like, it wanted me to sign in.
Being too lazy, I went to Youtube to watch 2. I subscribed and liked over there!
Congrats!

I forgot to credit Ironsides… Nice pickup!๐ And Watusi – was hoping someone would catch the bonus X-men scene at the end, and you did… I updated part 2 with a better sync today, but you got the idea. Thanks the world over for being a part of the journey here and for taking the time to watch and comment. You rock!!!๐๐ธ
