If E.T. asked me what it was like to be human, I’d play him this:
EFC 3.02: Get Out
Feat. The Music of Run The Jewels
“…You’ll be able to see and hear what your body is doing, but your existence will be as a passenger – An audience. You’ll live in The Sunken Place.”
Hypnosis works, boys and girls. Writer/Director, Jordan Peele, proves it with Get Out (2017), the horrifying dark comedy that is, for me, the film experience of 2017. Continue reading “EFC 3.02: Get Out”
EFC 2.09: Blade Runner 2049
Feat. The music of Vitaliy Zavadskyy
“We all wish it was us. That’s why we believe.”
I have developed a bad habit recently of talking about myself, rather than the movies I purport to write about on this blog. I shan’t break course in this post, as I do not yet have the strength. For now I want to tell you about my own experience watching Denis Villeneuve’s new science fiction film, Blade Runner 2049, the other night. I will be brief. And I won’t spoil anything major. Continue reading “EFC 2.09: Blade Runner 2049”
EFC Classics – Lost in Translation

Halloween is three weeks away. I should be writing about horror movies. However, tonight my heart is elsewhere, in the dramedy realm of Sofia Coppola’s, Lost in Translation. Continue reading “EFC Classics – Lost in Translation”

About
Feat. The Music of Olivia Newton-John
Welcome to Experience Film! A visceral, psychological perspective on modern cinema! Let me tell you how this whole thing works.
About once per month i’ll induct a new film into what i’ll call The Experience Films Collection.”EFC” for short. Here I’ll commemorate the chosen film by psychoanalyzing the lead characters and tenderly depicting the outrageous fortunes that encumber them. Continue reading “About”
EFC 2.02 – La La Land

EFC 1 Year Anniversary: Mad Max Fury Road (New Music Video!)
Hey everyone!
This month (Feb. 12 to be exact) marks the 1-Year anniversary of Experience Film!

EFC 14: Manchester By The Sea (A Cold Fish of a Drama)
Accidents happen and they determine our fate irrevocably. Or so it would seem. Manchester By The Sea (2016) is a story of pain written from a cold and naturalistic point of view. The film sheds light on the phenomenon of grief poignantly. However, like its protagonist, the film is challenged in seeing beyond, where spiritual redemption lies forever waiting in grief’s shadow. Continue reading “EFC 14: Manchester By The Sea (A Cold Fish of a Drama)”
EFC 02 – Frozen Inside Out (Part 2)
Feat. The Music of Muse & Demi Lovato
“Some people are worth melting for” – Olaf The Snowman
Chapter 3: Up (& Down) The North Mountain
Queen Elsa’s chilly departure left Arendelle in chaos. The untimely winter freeze surprised everyone, including Princess Anna who until tonight was oblivious to her sister’s powers. Now she feels responsible for provoking Elsa. She sets out after her to try and make amends and stop the winter. We find her sitting beside her guide, Kristoff, in his sled. Kristoff’s trustee reindeer buddy, Sven, pulls the pair through the dark forest.
