Tundra 7: Empire State of Mind

Waking Up this fine Soul Sunday, with my friend Stacey Bryan’s new sci-fi novel, “DeadTime.” Featuring Hard Luck “Harry”— a Steven Seagal esque badass action hero who hunts down crime bosses in post-apocalyptic New York City!

Empire State of Mind

And, there’s a ‘baby doll’ searching for her scientist father while evading perverts. Yeah, it’s kinda like Terminator meets Sucker Punch! Harry just smashed into a Geisha house guns blazing. Check it out! Superbly written.

Coincidentally, (Ahh There are no coincidences!) SPAΩ Episode 2 is set in NYC… in a Geisha house. That’s right we’re air-lifting The House of Blue Leaves from Tokyo and converting it into a tourist trap.

Stacey and EF’s settings were chosen independently of one another yet arrived in the same exact place. This is called synchronicity, and we’re going to see more of it as society swirls down the porcelain express toward AI singularity.

Shit’s about to go down in NYC. New Yorkers are going to unanimously elect the city’s first socialist mayor November 4. The regime will try to label the city a terrorist sanctuary. Presently, the corrupt Feds are deploying their private ICE army and the national guard into American cities like DC, LA, Portland, Nashville and Chicago as sentinels to hunt down minorities. They’re in full Star Wars Empire mode. (You never go full Empire).

Hayley Williams’ Fallon performance of her new finger-pointer,”True Believer” is blowing up on social media as we suspected (the album) would. EF considers himself fortunate he has avoided both the burdensome trait and horrifying experience of racism.

Very exciting announcement regarding the project coming next week in Part 8, titled, “Mojo Dojo”! Stay tuned, and thank you for sharing your day with me.

    1. EF, those coincidences are WEIRD! NYC and NYC and Geisha houses and young girls in both?! Hey, that’s so much for the nod to Hard Luck Harry in Deadtime, sir! I appreciate your enthusiasm to no end. May I just add, though, that this was co-written with my writing partner, E.F. Corporan, who is the actual brainchild behind Harry. It’s his concept and his story entirely: I just helped flesh it out and add some new stuff! But a partnership entirely (and we only wanted to strangle each other part of the time; not the entire time, lol) And Mastermix, I think it’d be JUST up your alley, ’cause it’s fairly cinematic!

But hey, EF, what the hell have I been missing? Part 8 is approaching? I’ve missed most of the other parts!! They’re all in here somewhere, I take it, right? I gotta go back, back, back…………….

      1. Omg I mis-spelled your name🤦🏽 Just fixed it!.. I know it’s co-written but I struggled to un-clutter the first paragraph here already, so I omitted that detail. BUT just added another mention and link at the bottom of the post, and added your writing partner’s name there to clarify.

  1. E.F., I had not “found” Stacey again on WP until I saw this post, so thank you for that re-introduction. Also, thank you for highlighting her new project, which I was not aware of. I just saw the Hayley Williams performance you highlighted. Pretty powerful stuff, especially with that 12-piece band. Again, thanks for also bringing that to my attention. Mojo Dojo has a nice ring to it!

    1. Hey Bruce, Good you found Stacey here and, powerful indeed🎻 I’m partial to Haley as she comes from the band Paramore. They were big when I was in middle school / high school. They were on the Twlight soundtrack… Haha “Mojo Dojo” I stole from the Barbie movie. Ken refers to his pad as a “Mojo Dojo Casa House” and Barbie chastises the redundancy in the name☺️

  2. Thanks a million gazillion, EF! Yeah, F.A. Corporan, otherwise known as hubby. He prefers to be called writing partner and not spouse, although everyone WE know online already knows the truth. It may have something to do with general sci-fi readers and who they take seriously–evidently women aren’t high up on their list! lol But we don’t claim Harry as hard-core sci-fi, so who cares? Anyway, cherry on top–Bruce and I found each other again! Thanks for the start of a wonderful Monday, EF! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  3. Nice nod to Tropic Thunder 😉

    You never go full re#$@d

    Or Empire for that matter.

The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.

    Or, in this case, cities.

Nobody puts Babydoll in the corner 💃

    1. 😂😅 —Was just explaining Robert Downey’s character to a friend the other day who’s never seen it. And he asked, but he didn’t do black face did he? And I was like Ohh YEah He did FULL black face… Tropic Thunder goes hard in the paint Lol

Love your own nod to Dirty Dancing. We’ll be traveling to that realm in full Episode 3 (Slated for mid-late 2026) with hints this present episode… That line’s too good not to use!

      1. Lol 😂🤣😅
You know, shortly after Tropic Thunder I had heard rumors that Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise were going to make a Hardy Brothers Detective movie.
        That resemblance did look uncanny.

  4. It’s pretty easy to get labeled a “terrorist” by this regime; all you have to do is disagree with them slightly or hurt the Dear Leader’s feelings a little. I expect Time magazine to get on the list any day now for that cover photo.
