Pure Ambition

“But Charlie, don’t forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted.”
“What happened?”
“He lived happily every after.”

Last night EF received the real-world affirmation he needed to keep this endeavor going. A friend couple told him they liked the new montage so much, they watched it a second time. Together, no less.

I wasn’t joking in October when I expressed my disappointment with the premiere. I was depressed for a month. Of course I was also exhausted. The post-premiere comedown is always to be expected, I’ve learned over the years. You pour your heart and soul into anything 10 hours a day for months on end and you’re bound to need a recovery period. Creatives get labeled bi-polar by people who don’t observe the process, respect the dedication.

I have not solved the sync problem yet. Turns out it is in fact, not my fault – it’s streaming. But I will solve it in time. If I have to print hard copies and mail them to people, I will. If that’s what it takes to give people the true experience. Calibrated to the goddamned millisecond.

I want to make montages so synchronous, so satisfying, people want to watch them again and again. For a visceral experience which goes beyond the movies. An experience which re-orients the spirit in a positive direction and gives people the power to believe again, live again. Ultimately.

I don’t just want to entertain, I want to heal people. Ok, EF don’t act like you’re Jesus Christ (eye roll)… Read the title; I’m going for it here! Expand! This Omega’s learning how to Alpha. He’s tired of getting his ass handed to him per the algorithms by amateurs who slap a music track under a timeline of mostly random scenes with no transitions, call it a day and rake millions of views shamelessly. (“Amazing!😍”) F*cking bull$h!t.

I can’t wait to share with you the fresh ideas. Episode 2’s gonna be the weak side reverse the D never saw coming. But first, priorities. Taking care of my family, my baby sister, my evicted friend. And learning to play like Eddie for the band, to teach my angel-winged nephew with the wry smile (who knows as well I’m full of shit) how to shred!.. Now f*** off! (…too much?)😄😇

  1. Dreaming a new vision takes over one’s life as the mind’s eye opens up, a vision is presented and seized, and new syntheses result. In place of this vision, we have the reality in the cup of our hand, but it is broken and suppurating, making us rue the lost time we invested. But wait! Is that a celebratory voice in the distance, urging us on? It is! On the edge of despair, support is a life saver, drifting over the waves of turbulence to let us hang onto it for a little while longer…

  2. Hi EF, I have said before that your work is worth all the effort you put in to it. I know just how hard it is for me to make a 20-30 second Blender animation without sound or FX to deal with, let alone try and make a cinematic scale work like that which you do. Plus you also inspire other people (me again) such as with your suggestion for the KaTrona. In fact my latest version will be posted this weekend, though it may look a lot different this time!
So basically take the time you need, let things mature and mellow….the good things come to those who wait, and we will!

  3. I’m recharging myself with extended family in Slovenia right now so I understand. It’s good to connect with the younger generation. Keep on trucking and I hope you get discovered and offered a job as an editor!

      1. We just returned. Jet lagged and all. We all had a wonderful time with my father and my sister’s family. Kids are growing and it feels great I’ll be able to visit them more often from now on.

  4. Geez! Talk about being hard on one’s self.

I thought you did great, and the sync is not as horrid as you say.

Still, I understand the drive for perfection. Keep going!

I like what you are trying to achieve with your abilities.
