To non-English-speaking bloggers and/or bloggers living outside the United States:
I am saddened that, over the ten-year course of this blog, I have increasingly lost contact with people from other countries— Europeans in particular. I have never had much contact with Asia, Africa, or South America, although I welcome the privilege of such connections.
I believe there are at least two reasons for this decline in diversity, beyond the language barrier— which, can now be overcome through AI translation tools.
The first reason is that it is in the interest of the ruling class to prevent citizens of different countries from communicating with one another. In general, they seek to divide us—to make us strangers to one another so they can remain in power. The algorithmic segregation and censorship of populations through social media, at least here in the United States, is congruent with the corporate Zionist takeover of mainstream news media, social media, and the entertainment industry. I noted over a year ago, following the Ellisons’ acquisition of TikTok, that the United States was henceforth under an indefinite media “blackout.”
And to my fellow Americans, who account for more than half of page views here, if you are reading this: I cannot overstate the insidious threat that censorship, manipulated algorithms poses, not only to our psychological health, but to the health of our society. The news we receive is pacified and vetted by the same people terrorizing and brutalizing the rest of the world.
The second reason for this decline is your own prejudice—which, frankly, is understandable. The rest of the world is becoming fed up with Americans. And I completely understand why. In no way do I condone fascism, colonialism, or terror. I am ashamed of my government, one of only two to vote “No” on recognizing food as a basic human right (186–2) at the 2021 UN council. To live in a country with such abundance that it can produce trillionaires while people elsewhere go hungry is existentially agonizing.
Many of us, myself included, are actively fighting, have been fighting, for decades to correct the course of our rogue oligarchy. I have been engaging in activism— marching, holding signs on street corners, donating, and so forth—in an effort to replace this rogue regime. You may see the fruits of this ideological and spiritual labor in the upcoming Experience Film movie mashup, which should be completed in the coming weeks.
I conclude by saying thank you. If you have made it this far, thank you for staying the course with this American blog. I seek to earn your trust, and I benefit immensely from your cultural differences and your outside perspective. I welcome you.
EF
P.S. Are the bots visiting your site too? New as of 2026? And does anybody else think it’s strange that the U.S. / Taiwan bot swarm stopped the same day The Chinese bot swarm started?

Thank you very much for this incredibly powerful post.
As a blogger from outside the US, I want you to know that your voice is deeply valued.
True connection transcends borders and algorithms, and I am grateful to be a part of your journey.
You are an inspiration🌹🌷🙏
A thousand thanks for the appreciation; it truly pleased me a great deal. 💗
You are an inspiration, in general, but also I thought of you specifically while writing this post… I hope I punctuated that correctly😉
Your punctuation is perfect, don’t worry! 😉
Thank you for your beautiful words, you inspire me just as much.
I love this post and I am from an time that I wrote letters to other countries. hahahahahhahhahaahah not saying my age, but was a lot of fun back than when people where more opened to try, to comunicate even if they did not speak the language. I have friends outside Brazil that are beyound all this thecnology limit ….. I also think that people lost hope in others and are much deep inside their ownselfs… also, the routine, the hunger, the bad things around the world influences on our time…. at least for me now I feel that I have less time to write to my friends from other countries but I believe that will pass sometime… like everything else. Life is strange and like a repetition…..
I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and I enjoy very much meeting others specially non americans…. ahhahahahhahhahahaha I have studied out there at L.A but I also fed up with them. hahhahahahhahha SOME OF THEM.
Have a great week
I follow a blogger in her 20s who collects and sends postcards all over the world🌍✍🏼📫 — The tradition is alive🙂… Hahaha— I know what you mean😌
Dear EF,
Thank you for this heartfelt post.
I get it.
As a Canadian, I am VERY ANGRY with how your current government is treating us. However, we have moved on!
What else can we do?
We may all starve in the cold this winter, but we are still our own sovereign country.
I really like all of my American friends & blog pals, (some very, very much) I refuse to let your orange gangster pedophile colour my thoughts of individuals. GET RID OF HIM!!!
I know it goes deeper than that.. like you say – Food is not a right? Women’s rights? Only the rich get tax breaks? Poo-tin is more important than a free world? Obliterate us… anyone if we don’t fall in line?
Keep the faith, and keep creating. You are appreciated!
Resa

“We have moved on”😭 I know, I told my little sister Canada’s moving to Europe☹️.. Gotta do what you gotta do! Starting a trade war with your closest ally is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen or heard. You have right to be mad as hell… The Big election is coming up Nov. 3rd. Polls and vibes heavily favor democrats. We are close to turning this ship around… I know and am so glad you’ve found good american friendsbird🕊️🌷🥻
The trade war … sigh… and the 51st state.
My fingers are crossed for the mid terms.
I’ve seen Mark Kelley and Newsom speaking. You have some really smart great people in the offing.
I know theres’ more!
x꧁★꧂o
Nice post. We should all stay in touch. Algorithms be damned. I don’t see the ‘bot invasion’ stuff quite so much being based in the UK. But I’m sure it’s happening here plenty too.
FWIW I am frustrated with Americans only in as much as you don’t seem collectively angry and active enough as a nation to defend yourselves against what has been a very slow stumbling stupid theft of your freedoms.
As a nation (not as individuals) you just all seemed to let it happen.
I am more than frustrated, I am angry at your administration. Not to mention how I am fucking furious at the corruption damage and lies done in your nations name.
But I don’t blame individual Americans. I blame the idea that you are allowing what the world once envied to be stolen from you by inept bad people. And that we all have to pay more for it financially, environmentally and psychologically.
I’m just as perplexed as you why my “neighbors” seem oblivious or indifferent to these horrors. Our house is on fire and we sit here picking our noses. Part of it is that the U.S. has only two (significant) political parties, and one party’s leaders have been indoctrinating its members for decades with anti-this, anti-that rhetoric. And people in the other party are afraid to offend friends and family who are in the anti-party. So we continue picking our noses.
Still not as bad as 1930s-40s Germany, but we’re moving there fast.
Felt💯 And a chilling reminder that everyone is paying the price. This is the tough love and motivation we need right now🙏
We live in a world where ‘thinking is forbidden’ is enforced through subtlety—a world where immediacy is the law, leaving no time for reflection. Everything must be here and now, making it impossible to deepen human relationships. We are merely ones and zeros.
One positive to come out of the UN General Assembly this week is Pedro Sanchez meeting amicably with Mayor Mamdani. Those two politicians have a bright future ahead.
Dear friend EF,
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this incredibly powerful, brave, and deeply moving post. Writing from the heart, completely unfiltered, is the only way true film lovers can connect, and your voice is a rare and precious light in this digital world. As a blogger from Croatia, I want you to know that it is an absolute honor and a privilege to have you walk alongside me on this celluloid journey. Thank you for translating and reading my “Proustian” reviews, and for always bringing your authentic perspective to my corner of the internet. True passion for cinema knows no borders, and no algorithm can ever silence the genuine human connection we share through our love for film. Keep fighting the good fight, keep creating, and never lose that beautiful “class optimist” spirit! I cannot wait to see the fruits of your labor in the upcoming movie mashup. Like they say in Top Gun: Maverick – where I go, you go. You always have a seat reserved in my virtual cinema. From Split with pure celluloid love, Ana, Volcano Red🎬🌋✨️🍿📽🫶
Your “Proustian” reviews are 🔥👏 I recommend them to others and I hope more people discover your awesome site. We are bound by our shared passion for cinema, its portrayal of the human experience. We have compatible movie taste. For example, we both love David Lynch AND Top Gun🙌 (congrats on the retweet by official Top Gun account☑️😎 earlier this year)… I must mention something cool about the upcoming EF movie mashup— a special ‘Deer Hunting’ scene, inspired directly by YOU! Because I know that’s your favorite….. This scene is one of the last scenes to be added to the episode, occurs near the beginning, and is critical to the portrayal of the hero, Katniss. Timestamp ~07:00. I altered the original scene, combining Katniss’s hunt with an establishing shot of The American Smokey Mountains, borrowed from “The Last of The Mohicans.”… So tune in for that scene if nothing else🦌🌋🍿🎬
Wow, EF…You completely blew me away with this! To hear that The Deer Hunter and my passion inspired a scene in your upcoming mashup is the ultimate cinematic compliment🙌🙌 Connecting Katniss’s hunt with The Last of the Mohicans scenery sounds absolutely brilliant, pure directorial vision🎬𐂂✨Thank you for championing my reviews and for this incredible nod. True movie taste is a rare bond, and I am honored to share it with you. Consider my front-row seat permanently reserved for the premiere🍿🦅Keep the celluloid burning, my friend🔥
I breathed a sigh of relief upon adding the deer hunt scene. Until that moment, something very important was missing. I just didn’t know what🦌🏹… A pleasure to meet you and to follow. Same to you🌋🎞️
Hi EF, as another Brit (Yay! There’s two UK based commenters) I too am frustrated how the American Dream has been hijacked by the current leaders (<I use the term "leaders" loosely) of your country. I am very fortunate to have a few US friends including yourself, here and on other forums and appreciate you all greatly.
It feels sometimes that the UK are slipping down a similar path of electing "career politicians" to our offices of power rather than people dedicated to run countries fairly and EQUALLY. So we need to stick together and do our best and keep working towards a better future.
I have even learnt the basics of NFL football over the years to share experiences……and how about J.Burrows' and J.Chase' performance in the Bengals v Texans game? That TD reception by Chase was impossible!
Stay Strong.
🥳Welcome, British Ambassador, to this little powwow of discontent Haha. Yea I feel like Brits are suffering from the same underlying problem, but its manifesting for you in different way. For example, the immigration problem. And I can’t help but notice the connection between U.S. aggression in the Middle East and refugees fleeing to European countries as a result. So we’re really not helping you there😑… Hugely consequential midterm election here in the U.S. November 3. We might be able to correct course by next year if Democrats can flip both The House of Reps and The Senate… HAHA! Am super impressed you not only are up to speed on NFL (Awesome NFL Team Sabers series btw), but know the players of my personal Home Team, The Cincinnati Bengals🙌 I watched that game with friends and it was a beautiful connection / catch🏈🐅
Hi EF, well regards to the upcoming mid-Terms hopefully the tanking approval ratings and the way Dems are beginning to fight back there may be change in November – I just hope another Jan 6th or worse doesn’t happen. In Britain well we’ve had over 400 or more years of this election mess and we still haven’t gotten it right – so having just passed 250 years the US still have a way to go to catch up with the UK to be similarly screwed up – hopefully the US will learn quicker than Brits.
And I forgot to mention the defence player Alexander II – he was a beast in that game too (almost like a peak Micah Parsons). And thanks for the kind comment on my NFL themed hilts, I still think my Bengals saber is one of the prettiest I have built.
Here it is🐅: https://ftsabersite.wordpress.com/2023/12/02/bengals-blade-inspired-by-cincinnatis-nfl-team-and-its-snowing-cats-and-dogs/
I’m not tired of Americans. I’m tired of Trump and his associates, who cause chaos around the world and interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, including my Poland. I hope we are smart enough not to let anything drive us apart, especially politics. Current technology allows us to stay in touch no matter where we are in the world, we can broaden our horizons, and we shouldn’t stop doing that.
A warmly received message, SM. Technology has pros and cons— allowing us to communicate across borders is a definite pro!
Your post was really magnificent. I feel your words and, from someone i Europe, i totally agree that we must stay connect, not divided, and never give up to violence.
Grazie🎞️🎬
Hello from Turkey 👋 Here, we know quite well about censorship too. No one is fed up with Americans. We are fed up with suppressive governments, censorship and the whole agenda of keeping people divided and making them enemies.
But despite all the all the algorithms, borders and politics we can still find each other. I am happy to be here ♥️
You are a most welcome surprise. Good to meet you, Fifienne from Turkey👋
Well said! 🇮🇳
Lulu: “Our Dada says he remembers an old broadcast from the 70s when America was in trouble for various reasons and some Canadians recorded a statement saying something to the effect of how the rest of the world might turn on America but Canada never would. He is pretty sad at how the American government has repaid our Canadian friends now, let alone the rest of the world …”
I found the audio. It’s on YouTube, because of course it is. Sorry, rest of the world, we obviously haven’t learned anything in the 50 years since then.
I see why the animals want to move there. I think of Canada as the perfect, most loyal movie best friend— like Shadow from Homeward Bound. Going out of his way to piss them off is the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen or heard.
You do words and actions 🙂
It helps to know another language. But English is a pretty good de-facto standard for getting information from broad sources.
Of course, no media source is willing to bite the hand that feeds. So it takes a wide net to see what’s actually in the sea. And propaganda is everywhere, whether political, religious, or merely capitalist press-releases. So there are some things you have to be willing to do in order to peer out of the well…
1. Stop reading “social” media as “news”. It’s not.
2. Treat anything that causes a strong emotion as manipulation. Think about it.
3. Put more emphasis on long-form information… analysis, explanation, numbers, sources.
4. Know your sources; be aware of their omissions.
I’ve written several articles about manipulative and editorial “news” sources and the loss of long-form analysis. But it’s self-inflicted; we want to be titillated during our 30-second attention-spans.
As a naturalized citizen of the US, I came from a country where the leaders are far worse and more corrupt than those in power here. Of course that doesn’t excuse the US leaders’ despicable behavior… I don’t get why he made enemies with EVERYBODY!!
At the same time, I believe the actions and faults of a country’s political leaders are distinct from the everyday citizens they govern.
Keep on keeping on and being creative, EF!! I appreciate your frank honesty, man. Take care, and peace be with you! ✌️
Hi mate! I am aware of your concern, and I expected nothing less from you. Unfortunately, that is the fate of all intellectuals in these tough times—who think before acting. They will be left lonely, though as you said, we will never give up!
While it is clear that the situation is much more challenging for you as an American, I observe that politics in Germany are also becoming increasingly influenced by corruption. Nevertheless, knowing that I have such a brave friend across the ocean brings me great comfort.
Take care, my friend. 🤗🙏🖖
“If a man knows more than others, he becomes lonely.” – Jung (per your recent post)🖖
Hi. There is definitely something interesting happening with page views. Decisions, automated or otherwise, are clearly being imposed upon the estuary of interdependent information channels through which our writing circulates. Commercial imperatives drive much of this, with political leverage, in some measure, ontologically downstream.
I have been writing here for about ten years. Keep going. If nothing else, there is something wonderfully cathartic about expressing yourself authentically in a world where such priceless individuation is so often treated as aberrant or defective. Damn the torpedoes. Life is short.
Hello from Australia.
