Greetings, 2026

“Remember who the real enemy is.”

You know… The worst part about having nasty things to say? Is all the time and energy spent not saying them. (And I won’t).

Journey

Tis true, I have only nasty things to say about the finale of 2025. But, it is a new year; should turn over a new leaf as the elders proverb. And so… (climbs coffee table)…

This year! New heroes shall rise! From the marble ruin tombs of these false idols. Though they ride their pedestals like rockets toward the cold firmament, they cannot escape consequence of the base left to rot.

Our world may be corroded to the core. But we are not! We have integrity. We have love, and wit— worth more than all the oil! But less than the life of a single whale.

Let us axe through the podium with patient tenacity, carve through the tsunami of lies with cool clarity. Face the arrow of time with grace, with serenity, and understanding that your life is just as valuable. That you are not alone. Have courage and be kind. To yourself too.

Wishing you, and yours the very best in 2026.

    1. Thanks, Bruce. The late David Lynch, and practitioner of Transcendental Meditation talked about consciousness as being like a ball. That when it focuses, it expands. And, with right intention, it spreads to the community… Acts of kindness are the manifestation of that. And it makes an impact. Yes, this is the way!🙏♔🏁

  1. My 2025 didn’t start well for me. I do t recall the details but the feeling was crappy. Overall was fine. Many unexpected changes and challenges that turned out well at the end.
For some reason I have a good feeling about 2026 even though my father ended up in the hospital just today. His defibrillator got infected so it’s not life threatening but will take some time to get resolved. Luckily I’m flying there at the end of the month.
I’m keeping a positive outlook on the year ahead.

    1. I wish your father a speedy recovery from the infection. I’m sure he will be glad to see you in a few weeks! Our health is precious. I am feeling healthier than I have felt in years, and grateful for that heading into this new year🥋🙏

  2. Excellent advice! 2025 was not a fortunate year, as I could sing a song about it. However, many things are happening: the uprising in Iran (again!) and hopes for peace in Ukraine (hopefully!). The latest news is that President Nicolás Maduro has been captured, and Venezuela has been “forced” to be free! So, then, we can hope for a better year! 🤔😛
I wish you and yours, mate, a much better New Year, filled with love and prosperity. 😊🖖🥂🌟

    1. I must delegate to you, the assessment of the new Iranian uprising as I understand it is against a regime which has prior caused you and your family suffering🙏 As for Venezuela, if I didn’t know better, I would suppose the U.S. government cares more for the welfare of Venezuelan citizen than its own. As conditions for the middle and lower class continue to deteriorate here… But I do know better. Venezuela has the largest Oil reserves of any country in the World. And The President and his Oil baron donor stand to make a fortune by plundering the nation. The President recently shut down a brand new Wind Farm off The East Coast. All but certainly at the request of the Oil companies… And now the President says the U.S. “will run (Venezuela)” until the new puppet (nobel prize winner) is installed successfully… This could get very dangerous for U.S. serviceman and women… Not THREE days into the new year! And boots on the ground in foreign lands already🤦🏽…🖖

      1. Indeed, I have just learned The King does not want María Corina Machado. I was wrong. And probably am misjudging her character… I am just so accustomed to The U.S. and Israel replacing world leaders with whoever they want that, that now whenever I DO hear that a particular candidate is somebody they want (approve of), I immediately root for the opposition! It is the rebel instinct within me. And admittedly, often misguided.

  4. Thanks for that energetic and rousing New Year welcome, EF!!

“Have courage and be kind.” I love that quote from the live-action Cinderella, one of my favorite recent remakes that I rewatched last year. Have a splendid New Year, cheers!!! °🥂⋆.ೃ🍾࿔*:・🎉

  5. A belated “happy” new year to you too. Fingers crossed!

PS: Saw your maduro post but couldn’t get in it, but was able to read it in my email, and yes, ahem, convenient much, that “kidnapping”? Still, now taking over other countries? Since when? We only do that “behind the scenes” and/or leave a military force there for 20 years. Oh, wait. I guess it’s the same thing. It That Will Not Be Named and his enablers are just announcing it ahead of time. Same sh**. Different day!

  6. Unfortunately, the year is starting out nasty isn’t it. Sorry for being a party pooper.

Keep rallying. As Journey sang, Don’t Stop Believing.

I pray the year gets better though and many good wishes for you too.
