  1. Wow! I must say, I bow to you! That is a masterful blend of many scenes, perfectly executed. It is an expertly woven mix of various scenes, carried out flawlessly. I didn’t expect that the ABBA song “Voulez-Vous” could be paired so wonderfully with those movements and dances. Excellent work, mate. 👏👏🤙

    1. Honestly my dear friend, you know I despise ego, especially my own!… But in secret I dreamed to be complimented as such for this one😅🤭. And in truth I still made some very amateur mistakes. Technology is becoming more and more forgiving and these tools helped rescue some of the mistakes I made. One of them being: NOT using importing the highest quality version of Kill Bill available!?🤦🏽 Not only was I working with the 1080 version instead of the newly available 4k (which I KNEW existed) but I also burned an inferior copy of the 1080. So most of the Kill Bill shots are Grainy. Especially the Black and White shots… But I am proud of the work I put in and the overall result I am happy with… This one was TOUGH🥵 Thanks so much for watching and for sharing, and for your positive artistic influence.   5. Dang that had everything in it! Loved the swordplay scenes (though Uma kinda slowed down whilst delivering the two Sai Strikes – the head height sweeping strikes). Then there were KaTronas galore….two Bonds…..and a Minions Easter Egg. Only one problem now though, you’ll need to rename this masterpiece as “Voulez-Gru”!

    1. “Voulez-GRU!”👏🤣…You don’t miss a thing, do you FT! That slowdown is firstly☝️ a color glitch— well, not a ‘glitch’ but rather editor error. Voodoo always strikes as I’m nearing completion on these montages. The night I published this I was working up till deadline to complete, and rushing, and somehow or another things like color adjustment layers started sliding around a little bit (prompting panic attack, mind you) I caught most of the, erm, ‘slides’ but not that one. So the color boost dips out right when Uma starts swinging! ALSO that same section was very bit / render-intensive. It physically would slow down when I was editing on the timeline. But timing is fine on my end in the rendered output. Your machine or Web decoding could be causing the slowdown there, trying to keep up. My technical knowledge is impoverished so I’m just hypothesizing there…. Yes, The Katrona! I almost asked if you could build Uma a Yellow Katrona!? For the Tron sequence here. But I just added that scene not 2 weeks ago and I knew that wasn’t enough lead time to give you… BUT this scene will be in the full episode come late Jan or February and I could add it then. Just sayin’ No pressure! I’ve never replaced an object in this manner before. I would have to keyframe the lightsaber over Uma’s Hatori Hanzo. There is so much motion blur, she’s moving so fast, I honestly don’t know if I’m up to that challenge as I have so much work to do on the episode already. But it would be so awesome to witness an FT additions Uma / Hanzo Kill Bill Katrona!💛🤩

      1. Hi EF, the slowdown “Glitch” could well be at my end as my laptop isn’t the fastest machine in the planet. I’m guessing but it could also have been a Tarantino “micro slow-mo” effect to emphasise the slicing motion (bit like the Matrix bullet storm dodge move).
        And in regards to “Rotoscoping” and Keyframing a lightsaber it can take a long time (hence the reason ILM had a team of artists that just did Rotoscope duties). I will have a go at modelling a Uma/Hanzo Katrona as I was considering doing a Kill Bill tribute already (I was slowly gathering reference pics of the blade markings). I’ll let you know as soon as I have something ok?

    1. That’s so neat; I would love to learn. I do some living room routines in front of Youtube. But am terrified of dancing in public truth be told. Unless I’m really REALLy drunk. But from 2023-2025 I could barely walk let alone dance bc of heart problems. Relieved to say that it’s improved since about April or May of this year. So dance, running and other cardio could be on the table going forward. Fingers crossed🤞😬 🪩🙏🕺🏽

    1. As a guy, I feel like ABBA is somewhat of a guilty pleasure. I know all those song well haha😊 i grew up on th mamma Mia soundtrack, before it was a movie. Saw the broadway production twice as a kid. It stuck apparently🙂

    1. Thank you, Resa!🎉🥂 If the Mistress of Mural likes it, we’ve got a hit👍🙌 Spent a lot of time on color in this one which I know you’ll appreciate. The Andor shots were all filmed at pre-Sunset. Many into the Sun. Naturally those were pretty washed. Works fine in the show because the dance is intercut with scenes of Cornfields at daytime— the colors match… But problematic for the mashup!.. I like to think I made them fit with the other movie scenes 50% better than they would’ve without color grading. But it was a struggle! Thanks so much for watching. And know that you are a huge artistic influence🎨👘✍🏼🙏🥂

Well, as your colourful montage played, in addition to the above, my mind said. ‘Oh, no! This is bittersweet, because very soon, E.F. is going to be so booked and busy that he won’t have time to make these montages any more.’ And that made me sad. But then I remembered that being paid for your creative skills is the dream, and I want that for you, if you want it. Congratulations!

    1. Color could’ve been better. I referenced your taste for color regarding 80s music videos. You commented in my old “Natalie” post. I think. About liking monochrome color palette at the beginning and working more colors in eventually. To not SHOCK the viewer. (Flock of Seagulls is too harsh) I def could’ve executed this better. But this is exactly the effect I was trying to achieve!

      You’ll be proud to learn I my workflow is becoming more professional. Still, I am very happy making movies here for smaller audiences. I have artistic freedom. And I have other sources of income.

  22. It’s taken me awhile to leave a comment due to the severe episode of ABBA flashbacks from my high school days. Although I never carried a sword or left any disfigured victims in car boots, there were admittedly a few big hair moments. So to recover from the shock of this extraordinarily well-edited, if slightly psychotic-dance version of my own pop-history, I may now need to write something in which to vent a little Swedish-influenced, Osakan Japanese cultural history… and its long-term result. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme, a Man After Midnight!
