Tundra 4: Oh Boy

“Enthusiasm” comes from the Greek “enthousiasmos,” meaning “possessed by a god,” and has evolved to describe intense enjoyment and a positive, energetic attitude.

Today EF is leap-frogging the third installment of this *series (still under construction) to share with you that, for the first time in nearly a year, ideas are no longer the bottleneck of this operation. The greatest threat now to completing this project by end of 2025, besides work and social priorities, is this introvert’s own enthusiasm which must be contained. The blueprint, gifted by ancestors, has been received. The big tamale has landed. The mad scientist is Back!

-EF🛸🧊⛩️🧑🏽‍🔬

* The “Tundra” will be EF’s creative nesting ground (i.e., the process) for Sucker Punch AΩ Episode 2. Existing ideas will be shared and new ideas will be unearthed until we build this mojo dojo dance palace and wire it up hot!

  1. Enthusiasm (or Enthusiasmus in German!) is an effective way to navigate today’s chaos. We should keep moving forward to breathe—like fish—constantly in motion. 😉🖖🤙✊

      1. Yes, last October. My review is still pending (probably I’ll rewatch it soon). This was my initial reaction: “Alien franchise greatest hits with a decent script based on a good idea. Alvarez is good playing with established franchises, but I didn’t see him bringing much of his own to the franchise.”

    1. Yes his appearance here looks nothing like his Star Trek character, “Data”. The screenshot is from Independence Day 2: Resurgence, a vastly inferior sequel. But I felt the character, Dr. Okun fits the theme of the post. And The original Independence Day will be a major factor in AΩ Part 2… As will Andor😼

      1. ID2 is on my watchlist out of curiosity. I remember not liking the first part. Well made from technical perspective but the story felt very silly.

  2. That was a fun read. 🤓 Thank you, as always for your enthusiasm.

And thank you for letting me know about the issue with my Materialists post not showing up on your Reader feed. I’ve since reposted it. I believe the problem surfaced because I scheduled the post less than a minute before it was due to be published. A bit silly of me, really. ☺️

I’m just glad that was the problem, and not something more time-consuming to solve.❤️🥂

    1. 👍 The repost showed up. I had a feeling you would know what the problem was. Scheduling has given me trouble in the past (My post showed up in reader as several days old. Probs the date I last edited it. But not the date I scheduled it to post, if that makes sense. Is that what happened to you? Any advice?

      1. You telling me about the problem and me promptly googling helped me learn that it could be a scheduling issue. And enough time hadn’t passed for me to forget that I’d done this weird thing of selecting to schedule a post when I could have just clicked publish, since the publish time I wanted was less than a minute away. So, thank you again.

I understand exactly the problem you’re talking about. It used to happen to me, too. And I think the issue stopped for me when I realised that it only happened in one or two of the below situations, if not both:
1.) When I edited the post on my laptop, but scheduled it on my phone.
2.) When I scheduled it on my laptop, but while out and about, using my phone, I decided to post it immediately at a different time. In these instances, the post would show up as published on the day I last edited it, meaning it would be way down in the Reader feed.

The latter scenario rings more true but both could be true. My uncertainty comes from having not experienced the issue for a while now, because I figured out how to avoid it. I don’t make any changes to posts on my phone before I publish them. I hope this helps.

  3. Ah! Brent Spiner!
You know his female fanbase is collectively referred to as “Spinerbots’.
That guy must be cashing in at every Con you can think of.
Funny, not sure many would recall he was in Independence Day.
I think Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum get the lion’s share there.
In the 80’s we had a made for TV miniseries called V.
It was largely the same shit as ID
Fun fact: V starred Nightmare on Elm Street’s own Freddy Kruger, Robert England.

    1. I did not know any of that. Thanks for teaching me! He def impressed me in Independence Day. And must have impressed a lot of other people since his character, Dr. Okun is miracle revived just to be in the sequel. Don’t see that everyday.

      1. Hey Experience Fim, did you read the Screen Rant interview with Brent Spiner?

I found it because after recently rewatching Prometheus and Alien Covenant, I had an idea for a new Star Trek series. I would call it Data Origins.

So, apparently on Star Trek Piccard, they had an episode where the brought Data back. I guess there was a general consensus on the internet that Brent Spiner shouldn’t play Data anymore now that he is getting older.

But, what if Spiner played Data’s human creator? Kind of like Mr. Weyland in the Alien franchise.

The show would be kind of the darker side of robotics as Spiner, an aging genius that never had children of his own, attempts to build a replica of himself at his prime.

The Data we know and love from The Next Generation would actually be the culmination of many failures on the part of Spiner.

The Data failures would be the journey of this show. Kind of like Ex-Machina meets West World.

  4. I wonder what Brent Spiner is up to these days.

I think it would be great to make a new Star Trek show based on the creation of Data.

Spiner could play the robotics engineer that designs and build s Data.

Of course , to make it more interesting, it would have to be a progression of failed attempts (Think Prometheus and Alien Covenant, Mr. Weyland’s creation of David).

Also could have echoes of Ex-Machina and Archive.

I am currently enthralled by FX’s new series Alien Earth. This is some good Sci-fi.
