Superman Thing

“It’s what we do that defines us.” -Batman Begins

“He’s starting to believe.” -The Matrix

For better or worse we’re all stuck in whatever reality Alpha Donald manifests. {Of course I didn’t vote for him}. And right now, this week only (05/12/25) the anomaly is manifesting Heaven on Earth. Kung Fu hustling multiple gatekeepers at once.

Slashing drug prices for Americans by 30-90% via executive order? Brokering peace deals with anyone willing to hear reason and compassion? Throwing The Emperor back down the shaft to Hell? Sure none of this is real unless we see it through together. Point is, he’s saying the right things this week. We can echo his right speech back to him until the collective psyche is aligned. Talk repeated becomes action.

It may be our job, as shadow citizens in this man’s fever dream, merely to acknowledge good behavior and by doing so reinforce it. It’s Alpha Donald’s job, as the chosen one, to fly. Right now he’s doing his Superman thing.

  1. I have nothing to say about President Donald Trump trying to make peace and friendships here and there. The main thing I’m noticing is that he and his family are making unlimited money! As we see, humanity is also messed up behind: the Islamic regime is killing young women and men, and he is talking about good merchandising!!
Take care and be well, mate.

  2. And here’s me thinking you’re writing about the new Superman trailer! :DI’m not getting distracted. 😀

It made a big impression on me. Rarely a trailer makes me feel like, ok, here’s a director that knows what he’s doing. He knows the comics, the universe, and the character, what came before (all the versions and variations in various forms and media). I can’t say I love this version, but I like it and I’m giving it a chance to grow on me, because like Andor, it looks like the writing is impeccable. It’s serious and bright, but does not look ridiculous, which is its own achievement. It seems it will have dark moments, but not like Nolan’s Batman. I was not sure if I’d like the actor, but he pulled it off, because he’s different than all the rest. He’s likeable, but not in a macho way, like Henry Cavill, more like Christopher Reeve. It’s very hard what Gunn is trying to do, and it looks like he’s gonna knock it out of the park!

  3. Ironic in the context of a response I just left on my last post. Of course, Superman isn’t real… or Batman, or Flash, Trump, Biden, Harris, or the Fairy Godmother (okay… maybe the Fairy Godmother). But none are selling what they’re peddling (pills, I think). The collective psyche merely wishes for such Heroic, instant solutions to difficult, if not unsolvable problems. But they don’t exist. Not even the Czar of Russia could change the weather to guarantee a good harvest, much less some heavily lobbied public employee. But politics amounts to forecasting by developed consensus. Take The Pill and you get to be “right”… even when you’re not. And it’s exciting, rooting for your favorite wrestler!
But it’s far more efficient to just flip a coin and stick a wet finger in the air.
