Election Autopsy

“I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.” -RFK Jr.

Welcome to the new season of Reality. Sadly, a malignant tumor has wiped out the American Democratic party.

Supposed to be the labor party, and the party of peace, Big Blue became an icy middle finger which was promptly shattered by American voters on November 5, 2024 – leaving the Red guys to pick up the pieces.

The Donkey’s collapse means that Alpha DT is a GO. When Trump won in 2016 I decided to live out of my car for 3 months in protest. During this time I edited a Mad Max montage. Doing my best to keep the Florida sand out of my laptop, I imagined Furiosa brutalizing Trump’s face instead of Immortan Joe’s. Her, not me, mind you. Still, I was crushed.

This time around I am more optimistic. I’m not sure if that has more to do with my own maturation or Trump’s. However, given that I was as suspicious of the Dems even back then (they thwarted Bernie), I’d have to argue it’s Trump who’s changed more. It feels as if he’s undergone a spiritual awakening. I imagine taking a bullet across the ear has something to do with that.

Alpha Donald is rocketing toward a Nobel prize – presently calling for and orchestrating world peace. These wars are far worse than most people think, both in terms of scale and severity of human suffering. Over a million military casualties suffered in Ukraine. And Gaza is a holocaust. We have been on the wrong side of these conflicts. It’s very hard to deny.

Trump is also calling for shelter for the homeless, free in-vitro fertilization, nutrition protections for our children, and for the crooked places within our broken democracy to be made straight.

Whether we know it or not, most of us are still losers this election. Plants and animals are dying. Entire species are disappearing – the main reason I voted Green this election. If you think global warming is a hoax or not a problem, go ask the drowning baby Emperor penguins, or an Alaskan crab, if you can find one.

Many women, and minorities especially are feeling defeated, undervalued and without purpose. Dystopian level income and wealth inequality remains, as do the dream-crushing monopolies and their government lobbyists. Our health is in crisis as a direct consequence of our unchecked capitalism. One in three children are diabetic (zero should be, can be) and we are spending the majority of our taxes on military and healthcare instead of reaching for the stars.

Things are looking brighter for America, and for the world (human, at least). But beware of the neoconservative curveball. They attempted to assassinate DT once. Why haven’t they tried again? And how might they leverage this newly invigorated American nationalism to their advantage? Is Trump playing the good cop merely to rally the troops? What do you think? How do you feel about the outcome of the U.S. Election.

  1. So, my dear, I feel too young to die but too old to rock and roll! I believe the current situation stems from the power of lobbying that has infiltrated the Democratic Party from within. There seems to be nothing good left! Trump is a narcissistic idiot, but people are craving change, which is why he has unfortunately gained so much power. He might even suggest that Americans no longer need to vote if he wins. I just hope that doesn’t happen! Take care, mate.
I have once written my opinion here: https://lampmagician.com/2024/10/26/why-do-we-need-a-hero/

    1. Forever president (modern spin on dictatorship) is a scary thought.
My understanding is that while Trump was being Trump the opposition simply didn’t offer enough hope for change and they counted on voters to just vote against him no matter what. Obviously that was not good enough. I still don’t understand how he even ran again after all that happened and the open criminal charges.

For me this is all part of the circus politics has become all over the world to one extent or another.

  2. Bernie Sanders, a true man of the people, would have been annihilated in any showdown with Donald Trump. For reasons that continue to elude me, the American people have a very real aversion to socialism in whatever forms it may take, even sheltering under the tent top of the progressive wing of the Democratic Party. Bernie’s advantage, for a while, was that Americans wanted better health care. When Obama gave them Obamacare, that took some of the wind out of his sail. Bernie’s political platform encapsulated student debt relief, a health care system that cares rather than rakes in money and a less aggressive American military — all of which find some favor with the broad class of the American middle class. It is America’s loss that Sanders did not become president. He would have made an interesting imperator.

    1. Indeed the S-word is forbidden in my circle. Decades of cold war rearing left an indelible mark on the collective American psyche… Bernie was also calling for a $15 minimum wage between 2012-2020 and everyone laughed. Cut to 2020 and everyone realizes half our “essential workers” were making $10 and quitting, and pretty much overnight everyone was bumped to the *unfathomable* 15 – just to keep the entire fucking economy from collapsing. And The Stock Market soars… I still believe socialism is the only economic solution to AI – as technology evolves more people will see. And well that’s just my hot take…
