The Next Montage

I’ve cooled off, and that’s a good thing for now, albeit frustrating as its harder to write.

Before falling off creativity mountain I was, however, able to glimpse the next project. Let’s just say there’s a good bet we’ll be getting our freak on this Halloween.

Barbie? Or Black Mamba😈

I’m over the Barbie idea I had.

Dragon is the emerging theme this season. I have tamed mine. Emily has tamed hers. It’s time to square them off in a cage match. Bring yours too, we’ll make it a good ol’ fashioned backyard brawl. Anchorman-style.

Of course, I don’t know yet exactly how this will all play out. The soundtrack is coming together (always starts there). The venue, dress code, ground rules are all still TBD. With any luck we’ll figure it out together over the course of the summer.

What I do know is, if it happens, there will be fire, and there will be screams. There will be dirty dancing, poison, flying guillotines and other medieval weaponry. And there will be blood. Lots of it.

I may yet scrap the idea and call the 20+ hours of brainstorming a sunk cost as I have many times before.

The ultimate flex would be to keep it PG here the rest of the way – to entertain without vice. I am not that much of an angel👼 More importantly, there are too many good R-rated movies in the canon. Mustn’t limit the scope of experience.

Sucker Punch Update

I previously mentioned my hope to montage a 4k version of this movie. However, based on the vitriolic comment section of this recent update from IGN, this hope is now presumed dead in Kyle-infested waters.

Other 2024 Prospects

If I’m going to be spending Summer and Fall in hell, I’ll want to craft a short fam-friendly montage beforehand for balance-sake. Maybe something like Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven? With nature, future technologies and hugs galore?

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I’m still poor and fighting to keep a roof over my head so it’s possible none of these montages happen! But talking-them-out here makes them more likely.

Thanks for reading,
Experience Film

  1. Good luck on all of these future endeavors. Speaking of Sucker Punch, I greatly underestimated its popularity. Recently I’ve been an active participant in the Movie Talk Facebook group. Last month I asked people their opinion on Sucker Punch and I received 475 comments, 42 shares, and over 1,200 likes. I guess people are pretty passionate about it whether they’re positive or negative.

    1. Thanks for this great comment; it took me longer than expected to come back and respond. That is so awesome that your post blew up like that! Wow that is so interesting, and good to know. If I ever get back on Facebook I’ll be sure to join that group and look for your contributions.

  2. Fascinating ideas, Master EF! (I might be allowed to call you so?!). Since I have known you, I have come to the point that reincarnation does exist, and you might live as one the oldest Cinemania members of those days, like D. W. Griffith with his masterwork The Birth of a Nation, or even more as Fritz Long and his masterpiece Metropolis!
Anyway, the genius is up there for sure, waiting for a pop-up!🤙🖖🌟

    1. 🙏🏼 Your belief is very encouraging. But if you are not a master, neither am I!🖖 We understand each other, my friend. Not knowing, but learning. Not master, but student – always for us… Gifted students, yes🤓

I have studied Birth of a Nation in film school, and must see Fritz Long’s Metropolis! I believe in reincarnation too, and that my ancestors (and perhaps on very special occasion, actors and directors have assisted me in filmmaking. Although I admit that sounds crazy, And probably is!😅) I do not tell other people that I believe in reincarnation. Only you because you have experienced the astral plane. You get it… To the Magicians!🍻 Have a great weekend, my friend🧞‍♂️✨🖖🎸

  3. I’m always up for a good dragon fight! As for Sucker Punch, I saw it in the theatre, and it, uh, looked great and sounded great (I bought the soundtrack) but kinda didn’t make a whole lotta sense. I have to look for a director’s cut someday. Mostly though I’m thankful I didn’t drag my wife to the theatre to see it since I still hear about making her sit through Kung Fu Hustle all those years ago …
