Cue Wham’s!🎵 “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” on the soundtrack.
Roll Titles (in gratuitous Pink font)
EXT. CITY STREETS – DAWN
(Fade in. Music & Titles continue) Establishing shots of city. A woman waits under a crosswalk. A business man drinks Starbucks. Multi-colored sleeping bags line the sidewalk. Some fidget.
EXT. STREET CORNER – DAWN
A disheveled EF, bag bottle in one hand and tip jar in the other, sidewinds toward the window of a corner drug store to get a better look inside. His sunken eyes narrow, then widen as they glean the tabloids: “Natalie Portman SPLIT from husband.” “HE CHEATED ON HER!”
(Glass shattering). EF fixates on the magazine shelf. Light dances in his soul. Feverishly, he licks his palms and combs them through his greasy mane. Opens his mouth wide, points a small canister at his face and sprays it directly into his right eye.
“So you’re telling me there’s a chance!”
E.F.😄
(More on Natalie later)

we gotta give Lloyd credit. he saw the world in the way he did and put all of his energy into whatever he did 😀 he may have done it all wrong – but he was a winner while at it

Remember when Hugh Grant cheated on Elizabeth Hurley? Yeah, I couldn’t figure that one out either …

That’s an exquisite reference because, as a bonus “Notting Hill” also fits with the theme here lol

See, these 80s aesthetics are good. Toned down, nothing is over the top, everyone is stylish, and hairstyles are bouncy and voluminous, but under control. Uncharacteristically the video starts with an almost monochromatic tone, then they add more colors, keeping it light tone. Nothing is popping.
P.S. I’ve got a crush on Natalie as well 😍

More toned-down 80s aesthetic👍 Great observations. I like the monochrome opening too, I went back and noticed! B&W and adding more color as it goes

I met a woman that was a doppleganger of Miss Portman while I was on a mission, she went by the name of Queen Amidala!
I too am baffled as to why Mr Millepied would (allegedly) do what’s been reported and end up splitting up.
And I’m sorry but I can’t help but recall Lloyd and Harry’s dog breeding story……”We crossed a Bull Dog with a…….”

Hilarious refrence to D&D! Celebrity crushes can say a lot about a person. Natalie Portman makes a lot of sense. Curious to know how that came to be?

Haha Glad you got the reference. More than being sexy, Natalie Portman just fascinates me. And she’s scary versatile. I’m glued to every performance. And of course growing up with Star Wars I obsessed over Padme lol. Yeah how it came to be is a great pondering. As for her husband, Benjamin, As Will Ferrell says in Wedding Crashers, “What an Idiot!” ✌️😄
