Continue reading “The Wandering Mind”“The realistic goal to be attained through spiritual practice is not some permanent state of enlightenment that admits of no further efforts, but a capacity to be free in this moment in the midst of whatever is happening. If you can do that, you have already solved most of the problems you will encounter in life.”

Love is A Wild Thing
Kacey Musgraves’, Golden Hour (2018) is a pop / country-rock music gem. It’s no wonder it took home 4/4 grammy awards, including album of the year. Its a hit reel chalk-full of rhythm, melody, and beautiful vocals that will put you at ease wherever you are, whatever you are doing.

What I like most about the album is Kacey’s endearing concern for mother nature, which shines through in songs like “Oh, What a World,” and “Love is a Wild Thing.” She exudes a rock-legacy attitude of peace, love, and understanding that colors the entire album. Her lyrics are innocent, organic, and honest all at the same time.
Kacey is open about her experimentation with psychedelics, and their influence on her songwriting on this album. She feels they have brought her closer to nature, and have allowed her to feel greater sympathy, for her Mother, for example. And yes, she wrote a song about that on this album.
I made a music video to go along with track #6 – “Love is a Wild Thing,” drawing footage primarily from the beautiful Nature Show, “Our Planet” and also the documentary, “Take Me Anywhere,” and feature films, “American Honey,” “Into The Wild,”
I rigged it so that Shia LaBeouf plays host (of sorts) giving us a tour of Mother Nature in sync with the music. Check it out if you’re interested. I hope you find it relaxing. ๐๐ โฎ๏ธ๐๐๐ผ๐ธ๐๐ธ๐๐ด๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ

โYouโre a man looking at the world through a keyhole, and youโve spent your whole life trying to widen that keyhole โ to see more, to know more. And now, upon hearing that it can be widened, in ways you canโt imagine, you reject the possibility.”
The famed mythologist, Joseph Campbell, said that Step #1 in The Heroโs Journey is The Call to Adventure. The caller, of course, is The Universe, and it wants the hero to undergo a transformative experience of some kind. But the hero must pick up the phone in order for the journey to commence.
