CONTENT ADVISORY :

Violence and Gore: Shots will be fired, blood will be spilt – faces will melt, Yes… But honestly, I feel like this is a pretty tame on the gore factor. Especially considering how much gorier the Actual movies are that are featured here. FOR THE MOST PART, I used scenes that are not explicit. I was torn between assigning this a PG-13 rating or R. And I error’ed on the side of caution. Having said that, there are a few specific scenes you can expect. See below:

  • Violence & Gore (Specifics):
    • A woman is drenched in blood while holding a chainsaw
    • Dancers in a ballroom are soaked in raining blood
    • 2 women are stabbed to death (implied but not shown explicitly)
    • 2 peoples faces melt off (Blood and gore shown explicitly) Think Indiana Jones here
    • A vampire is decapitated (a combination of blood and fire spews from his neck)
    • A man is shot to death (Blood is visible on his torso)

Language: 2 F-bombs, and a couple other lesser superlatives.

Sex & Nudity: None really. Sorry to dissapoint😄

    1. Thanks MM! 😀 It is odd that not all the movies were horror isn’t it? I wanted to throw a little comedy in, mainly to lighten up the mood near the end. Steering the tone that direction required venturing away from horror a bit. I was really anxious to see how well that went over with people. So Did u feel that part was a little abrupt?

  3. Well…this was a nice thing to wake up to, and well worth the wait! You have really outdone yourself with this one! I loved it from start to finish, and it was great to even see non-horror movies make the cut, and got blended in, in such a unique way. The music choice was great too, and I really liked the outro music! Now I also want to see the silence of the lambs again and seven haha😂😂

  4. This is great. You did an amazing job with this. Great choice of music. I see you caught up with ‘Near Dark’. Did you enjoy it?
    The juxtapositions made me smile – especially the ‘Silence’ basement scene with the well in ‘Ring’.
    I recognised most of the movies but your list at the end is useful. I’ve never seen any of the ‘Resident Evil’ films. Worth a try?

      4. Same – I found it on late night tv – maybe 10 min in. I had every intention of watching just the first 30 min and going to bed. Ended up staying up for the whole thing, I thought it was so cool.. I thought the Hyper masculinity was unique 🏄🏻‍♂️🏄🏽‍♂️

    2. I hold a special place in my heart for the Resident Evil films. Worth watching for Mila Jovovic’s star performances alone. There are 6 films. The first 3 I view as a stand-alone trilogy. And are also my favorites, with Film 2: Apocalypse (Featured here) being my personal favorite. Its such a vibe with this deserted city and this Mutant Beast playing search and destroy. Really cool. Not to mention, Hordes of Zombies to worry about! 🧟‍♀️🧟‍♂️

      1. I will look out for them for sure. The clips in your montage intrigued me. I think when the first one came out I was not keen because I was totally unfamiliar with the video game it was based on.

  5. Wow…the Internet should now belong to you – you won it today! I knew this movie was gonna be good as soon as I heard The Exorcist theme kick in. Interesting fact: The melody line and the bass line are played in two differing time signatures which gives the tune that menacing feel. The nerve jangling melody and the slower pulsing bass which is played to represent a heartbeat!
    And who would have guessed that Leland Stottlemeyer from the series Monk had such sinister beginning in the Lambs film!

    2. That is WAY cool info about the exorcist melody! I Didn’t know that.. I’ll tell u a related fun fact I read – the composer, Mike Oldfield didn’t actually write the song for the film. It was cherry picked. And he didn’t really like the way it was used. I took this little tid bit as an opportunity to use it differently here l. Instead of applying it over supernatural, exorcism type of footage, I used over detective type footage that moves the plot forward. Not to say he’d agree with this use either haha😂 but it sounded ‘right’ to me. Especially this version, played on a piano, not a synth like in the original film

      1. Yes, I learnt about the syncopation of the melody and bass line when I learned to play the tune. It is a pain to play and get it to sound correct. I had a conversation recently about guitar riffs and solos being easy and sound “great” but they have such a flurry of notes most non players wouldn’t notice wrong notes etc, it’s the slower pieces that are hard to play. However you nailed the choices and editing with the music.

      2. As a guitar player I would totally agree with that. Because on guitar your two hands are always coordinated.. They work together to emit the same notes. Piano, each hand is distinct. Even when NOT in 2 distinct time signatures🤯 That sounds diabolical!😮

  7. Watching your production I was reminded the clips are much like the memories of practicing family law.

    Like the time two divorced parents woke one morning in separate residences to find their teenage son had been beaten to death on the playground of his old elementary school during a drug deal gone bad. Then they fought over his ashes in Superior Court.

    That is the kind of horror I am accustomed to; I am not making this up.

    Apocalypse. Now.

    1. That actually brought a tear to my eye, man. Thanks for sharing. Wow, just The details of that story – “his old elementary school playground” – of all places😪 And his parents adding insult to tragedy by fighting more after that? Jeezus that’s messed up.

      1. The Judge ruled in our favor keeping the child intact, my client was the mother. Yet the father vowed appeal. This lead to a conversation in the hallway of the courthouse where they settled the matter, dividing their son by dry measures of cups and tablespoons. I no longer practice in the field of family law.
