“What’s your favorite scary movie???”
5 years I’ve been dreaming of a Halloween movie montage. Now I am far enough along in the edit to realize this is no longer a dream, but an inevitability. This Halloween, it. is. HAPPENING!
I won’t be holding much back either… There will be blood. And it will almost certainly warrant an “R” or “MA” rating.
The plot is centered loosely around FBI agent, Clarice Starling, who must find and catch a killer of women. A montage featuring no less than 6 music tracks, and all your favorite horror movies accompanies Starling on her journey to catch this monster, and hence, silence the lambs screaming in her nightmare.

Here are the music tracks, and a list of the movies that will appear (So far…)

Experience – I practice law in a former mill town not far from where Twin Peaks was shot.
And I have to tell you, I live inside a David Lynch film.

Yes, it must be a truly Lynchian existence for you, practicing family law in that region!
Btw, I ran with your anecdote of fear being ‘stranded in the midst of an ostensibly more lethal and cunning entity’ and ran with it. Agent Starling being stuck in Buffalo Bill’s Basement, as one of the key settings in this montage I’m working. And, let me tell you, I’ve already spent WAY too much time there in the edit room😨😱

It Follows is my favorite horror movie (and it’s at the top of your list)!

MM, It Follows IS the reason I started this blog 5 years ago. That will sounds like an overstatement to anyone who was not Chilled TO THE CORE watching it the first time. I can’t explain it… But just re-watched it the other day, and paid particular attention this time to the cinematography. Something I don’t normally do with movies. It’s exquisite. The movements. The shot compositions, etc. It’s a true work of art.
What do you love about it?

More than anything, I love the idea of It Follows. It was the concept that really drew me in. One of my biggest fears is being followed. So I feel like the movie was made especially for me. The music by Disasterpeace was incredible. I don’t think about a movies score, but that one sticks with you. I also enjoyed the indeterminate time period, season, and almost non-present adults. It Follows really has its own identity. It sticks with you chills you as you mentioned.

Great description. It is a world of its own. And Disasterpiece’s score is incredible – really creates an atmosphere.

Great to see It Follows on here. A superb movie that reminds me very much of John Carpenter’s best work.
I would not disagree with any of your choices. I might put ‘Blade 2’ instead of ‘Blade’. Similarly And I think Carpenter’s ‘The Fog’ is underrated so I might add that. And possibly ‘Near Dark’.

Great feedback, AP. These are exactly the kind recommendations I need! Will look into the ‘The Fog’ and ‘Near Dark.’ As For Blade, for the moment I want to use it in the Montage, I’m looking primarily for the most awesome, bad-ass Wesley Snipes moment. Whether its 1 or 2. I don’t remember them too well. But Will review Blade 2 for sure.
As for It Follows – will Definitely be in this montage! I favor it heavily. I know the director, David Robert Mitchell, is a big fan of Carpenter’s. And it shows!
Thanks for the great comment.
Cheers ✌️💀

Blade 2 . Been thinking – the sequence near the beginning where blade tackles vamps on motorcycles when rescuing Whistler. And the humorous followup to this scene right at the end of the movie in the adult store.
